Nice job! I know how hard it is to money in those events so to make the final table and then take first is HUGE! Nice pay day.
Sweet! Good work Kid!

How long did it take to wade through 450 players?
thanks guys!

the whole thing took a long 4 hr 32 min. didn't get to sleep till 4 something, and had to be at work at 10, so i'm a little tired, but it was worth it!

merry xmas

Wow, that's a long tourney, CONGRATS!
It wasn't easy, that's for sure. I'm finding that to place 1st in any tourney, luck is still so important. Example, 8 players left, my AKo held against an all in 99. 4 Players, I was chip leader (200k), raised to 50k with AJs early position, other guy pushes all in for 120k. I think for a long time, put him on a pair lower than JJ, so call. He has AQo and I'm a big dog... J comes on the flop and he gets no help, so I double up and it's over from there. If I had lost that had (which you will most of the time), I'd have been crippled and would have probably finished 3rd or 4th ($900 and $600), not nearly as much cash.

Not that there isn't skill involved in winning a tourney. I'm an ok player, but I felt that I had my A game on the whole time. I made some huge laydowns that would have put me out had I called, and I made some good reads and called down people when I felt I had the best of it. Really, a tourney combines a number of elements, and you need all cylinders working to win. Even online, in my sweats, these things still take a lot out of you.
