With my impending move back to Texas, I'll be leaving the luxury of legal, local cardrooms and forced to drive 2.5 hours each way to the nearest casino to play poker.

With that in mind, over the next four weeks I plan to hit (almost) all of the cardrooms in the area.

I've already played at:
Cache Creek (but need to go back at least once)
Don Juan's
Folsom Lakebowl
Limelight

Playing at this weekend:
Blacksheep Casino
Lucky Derby (maybe)

Does anyone have any cardrooms that I should avoid or even a plan for attack for hitting the remaining 10-12?

Still to Play (based on http://www.byocpoker.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=5109):
o Dealer's Choice
o Gene's Sierra Club
o Antique Rose Poker Room
o Phoenix Lounge & Casino
o Paragon
o Murphy's Casino
o Rancho's Club
o River City Cardroom (still exist?)
o Silver Fox
o Sun Down Cardroom (still exist?)
o Gold Rush
o Capitol Casino

o Dealer's Choice (HIT IT)
o Gene's Sierra Club (Don't know about this one)
o Antique Rose Poker Room (Closed)
o Phoenix Lounge & Casino (Hit it for the experience)
o Paragon (Dunno about this one)
o Murphy's Casino (Hit it if you can and if they are still open)
o Rancho's Club (Hit it)
o River City Cardroom (still exist?) (No, closed)
o Silver Fox (Pass, skip it)
o Sun Down Cardroom (still exist?) (Closed)
o Gold Rush (Hit it)
o Capitol Casino (Pass unless you play 9/18. You will never beat the rake at 3/6 or 4/8)

If you hit the Black Sheep on Saturday, you will likely see me there. They run a NL game is that is your thing. Friday night I think is limit and so is Sunday.

As a general note, the list that was initially put up on that thread may be outdated at this point, (in fact I know it is) so I would call each place prior to making tracks there to make sure they are alive and kicking, and more importantly, spreading a game that you are interested in.

Sundown is closed.
Paragon is close (was in Davis, where Froggie's Bar is now)

Quads seems pretty accurate on the rest of them!

It's always fun to visit a new cardroom, but if you're in it to get in some good play with good action, good rake, etc, check out the following in my opinion:

Lucky Derby (best 4/8 rake in town, 12/24 and $200 SL)
Capitol Casino (9/18 ONLY! Avoid 3/6 and 4/8 like the plague)
Black Sheep (good people, good action, good times)
Dealers Choice (drive to Auburn sucks, but this place is a serious fish pond)

Also hit up Reno.... Eldorado has great tables, and Hilton & Peppermill are ok.

Update - It looks like I'm not leaving California until mid-September.
So, I have "plenty" of time to hit the cardrooms.

I played at Blacksheep this past Sunday.

They start with a NL tournament. Once people start busting out of the tournament, they play $25 Sit-n-Gos (if there are enough players). Once the tournament ends, they're either spread Limit or Nolimit, depending on what people want to play.

This past Sunday, we ended up playing $2/$4 Limit with Full Kill.
