Not sure about other states but it is now illegal/against building code, to dig holes for outhouses in Wisconsin. Something about preserving groundwater and such. You have to have some sort of tank to collect it all just like a septic. Just an fyi.

I think it has a tank. It's a repurposed camper. That's why the sink works too. Although I didn't actually read all the way through.

I used the black water tank from the camper for the toilet .The shower and sink drain in the ditch. I used the fresh water tank to drank the black water tank and go to the camp ground down the road to dispose of it properly
