Hey Mod,

Do your Mardi Gras chips have a smooth feel or a linen feel to them? Want to make sure that they have that good matte feel that does not slip at all.

They have a smooth, but not slick feel - matte feel so to speak. There are some pretty good close-up pix here: http://www.modfather.org/MardiGras Scroll down a bit - all the pix are clickable. You can get an idea of how the texture is.

If you're in sac and wanna check em out, let me know dude - I'll grab a handfull and bring em to work, or I can give some to Quads or whatever.

So I assume the Nevada Jacks chips are about the same. If I am not mistaken, I thought the Mardi Gras chips are made by Nevada Jack.

Anyone play with the NEvada Jacks chips?

Does anyone know why there is not an official Paulson chip company site? Am I looking under the wrong company name?

NJ's offer a chipco type chip as seen here:
http://www.nevadajacks.net/mall/nj_composite.htm
and as seen here:
http://www.nevadajacks.net/mall/desert_sands.htm
and they also sell a few clay chips such as the martini club chips as seen here:
http://www.nevadajacks.net/mall/martini_club.htm
and finally thier own branded lables chips here:
http://www.nevadajacks.net/mall/nevada_jacks_chips.htm

I have played with both the chipco versions and the Martini Club and they are both very nice. The Skull and Crossbones feel exactly like every other chipco chip and the others feel much like any other casino grade clay chip, they simply have a different mold. (not the hat and cane)

They don't sell to the dirrect consumer market so are effectivly bought through someone else. From what I understand, you can order a minimum of 100,000 Paulson chips with a custom printed inlay and multi-colored edge spots from TrademarkPoker: http://www.trademarkpoker.com/paulson.asp .

The suggested retail price is $1.25 per chip. I have no idea what the wholesale price is.

The next closest that you can get to Paulson is through GPI:
http://www.gpigaming.com/usa_products.shtml which is who now owns Paulson.

(CUT)
GPI USA, previously known as Paulson Gaming, manufactures the widest range of products for live games for licensed casinos. GPI USA offers Paulson and Bud Jones chips, 3 brands of precision dice, felt and synthetic layouts, playing cards, tables and other gaming accessories to all North American casinos

I think the only way to get Paulson is through ebay if you want specifically the hat and cane designs. However, http://www.dice702.com carries the new Paulson designs (that says Paulson, I think where the hat and cane is). Not sure the new chips are the same material-wise as the hat and cane ones.

You are correct. Holdem Poker Chips.com contracted out to NJ to have the Mardi Gras chips made.
