Anyone going to be at Dealer's Choice WSOP tourney Sat 11/19

Just wondering if anyone is planning on coming up to watch the action. I guess the place is called Deuces Wild now, and they have a sweet new poker room, chips, tables, etc... all very nice. Anyway, I qualified for this tourney, 50 players, 1 goes paid to the WSOP. 5000 chips, 30 min rounds, so should be a good game.

They're also going to have lots of free food and some 2/5 NL games going, as well as another tourney in the evening.

Anyway, should be a good Saturday of playing cards, watching sports, and eating... I'll be up there at 10 for the tourney, so come and give me moral support lol!

Seeing that you locaked up the WSOP tourney seat with :Qs :Qd :Qc :Qh, I feel obligated to at least be there to support your winning of the tourney and making your way to Vegas for the Main Event.
Wish I could, but that weekend has me buried. Go get 'em Kid!
Good luck with the tourney kid!

I played in thier standard tourney on Saturday and I was not real impressed with the place. The 12 minute blinds were crazier than the Derby even though you start with 3,000. I thought the place was dingy, the tables old and dirty, the chips were cheesy and the only game they were spreading before the tourney was $2-4 limit.

They were not very well organized when it came to the tourney and it felt like a glorified home poker night. The trailer out back with people coming in and out was also a nice touch.

Hope you win your seat but I probably will not be frequenting that place much.
Kahuna, are we talking about the same place? Deuces Wild (aka Dealers Choice) up in Auburn right by the bowling alley? Not the best building, but hasn't he opened up the new card room that he was putting together? When Quads and I were up there a few weeks ago, Phil showed us around what he was working on, and Jasen and I were both pretty impressed.

Never played 2/4 there, always just NL, but I agree with you that the blind structure on the tourneys is SUPER aggressive and is a total shootout! The one I'm playing in is T5000 with 25/50 30 min rounds, which should be good.

Anyhoo, thanks for the encouragement all, and hopefully I'll be playing at the next home game that happens.

Phil is the old crusty guy with the beard right? As soon as you walk in there is a bar and then 6 or so tables to the right. Looks like it is part of a restaurant or something. It is off of Auburn Ravine Road.

If that is the same place then I guess I am not easily impressed or something. To me, the Derby totally blows the place away.

You are talking about the Phoenix room.
Dealers Choice is in the CITY of Auburn, not off Auburn Blvd.
Up Hwy 80, and get off at the Forest Hill offramp.

I think they recently actually changed their name to "Deuces Wild", which is what is on their chips now.

The new room they were expanding into was top notch. All BRAND NEW shit, bar, chairs, chips, tables, fresh pait on the walls to new carpet.

If you are talking about a dingey place with a bar off to one side and a bunch of ratty tables on the other, then you are talking about Phoenix. The Phoenix is GREAT for their 10/20 game though. The mound of cash that come off that table aren't dingey at all 8)
No, I went to Auburn and took the Forest Hill exit. The outside sign said Dealer's Choice but thier shirts said Dueces Wild. Thier is a mexican restaurant or something next door. Did not see the bowling alley. They have a little podium or something where the guys stand behind and sign you up and thier is a white board looking thing that has some tourney announcements etc.

Nothing at all in this place had the Pheonix Room name on it.
Hmm, OK, then he hasn't moved into the next door space which is revamped since your visit. I thought maybe you were referring to Phoenix, but when you said 12 minute blinds, yes, that's it for their tourney. (which I don't care for either).

Thier new space is nice. My guess is that you didn't visit in the last week or two.
Was just thier on Saturday night, 2 days ago. Unless they had us in the old space. The area we were in looked no bigger than maybe 1,000 SF room.....a bar and poker tables with small black plasmas up around the room and a soda machine in the corner.
soda machine?? they dont have a soda machine at the old place? now i'm just plain confused... from the directions we've given and the name, i think that we're talking about the same place, but the new room that they are moving into (thought that they already had moved in) is, like quads said, really nice! new everything. the old room i wouldnt consider a rat hole... it's by no means nice, but it is cozy, and the office chairs kick ass!

anyhoo, that's where ill be saturday... then probably will head back down to derby or something saturday night after i win my WSOP seat

talk to you all later!
