I know that you all have probably heard all of them before, but you gotta hear mine. I just need to vent my frustration.
Recently I was playing a NL cash game at a buddy's house. I was UTG with A7o. There were 5 of us at the table. I bring it in for the standard raise and get two callers. Flop comes down AA7, nothing suited. WOW! Monster flop for me. I am thinking, Joe you gotta get all of your chips in the middle, but I also want some callers. I bet a third of the pot. Both players call. The turn brings a 5. I bet 1/3 of the pot again and get raised by the person sitting next to me. The other caller folds. My turn to act. I know that I still have the nuts at this point. So hell yeah.....I reraise and put all of my chips in the middle. Raiser calls and flips over 55. The turn brought them a boat. I flip over my higher boat and the happy look on her face just vanishes instantly. She had put me on an A, but not the boat.
So there were 2 cards dealt to 5 players. That makes 10. There was 4 cards on the board Plus 2 burnt cards. 52-(10+4+2+)= 36 cards left in the decck. She has only one out left in the deck to win and only one chace to get that out. She had a 2.7% chance to win at that point.
I don't even think I need to continue with the story at this point. Just look at the title of this of this story and you can figure out what came on the river. Can you believe that shit? I flop the nuts and she gets runner, runner for four of a kind to take away all of my chips. That hand set the tone of my night. It was like the 6th hand that I played so it was fairly early in the evening. I ended up having to cash in 4 times and left with my pockets empty.
