I have a set of brand new 500 chips for sale if you are interested. They are the same as Quads called James Bond Casino de Isthmus made by Blue Chip Co. I believe the Stratosphere and Four Queens in Vegas use this companie's chips. See
http://www.dice702.com/jamesbondpokerchipset.htm for more detail since that is where I bought my set.
The breakdown:
150 in $1 Blue
150 in $5 Red
100 in $25 Green
100 in $100 Black
50 in $500 Purple
50 in $1000 Yellow
I bought them last year for $455 (without a case in exchange for free shipping) but I will sell them for $350 (cash and carry). You could shop around the web but I doubt you could get a better deal on these chips. The reason I am selling this set is that I bought any set of 500 chips on ebay.
If you are planning to run a cash game using chips as face value it is good to have the denominations on them already. I put a lot of thought into selecting the right combination since this versatile set allows plenty of $1 and $5 for cash games and the higher denominations for tournaments up to say 10 players. I doubt you would need 1000 chips since for your higher limit cash game you would only probably get 1 table at the most anyway and 500 chips should be enough.
Say a 10 handed cash game you could use the following breakdown for the initial buy in:
10 $1 chips = $10 for each player (100 total)
8 $5 chips = $40 for each player (80 total)
2 $25 chips = $50 for each player (20 total)
You will still have ample supply of $1, $5 and $25's left for rebuys.
For tourneys you could use the following:
10 $5
6 $25
3 $100
1 $500
for $1000 in chips
Let me know if you are interested.
P.S. In reference to your other post about standard chip colors you really don't need $2 or $10 chips. Those denominations have very limited use. You would only use $2 chips if you were planning to spread $6/$12 or $8/$16 limit games as you see in the casinos, and $10 if you do $30/$60 or $40/$80. Otherwise stick with $1, $5, $25, and $100 chips since multiples of 4 or 5 gives you maximum flexibilbity for both no limit cash games and tourneys.
