![]() Not sure I am confident enough to do this project but I jumped right in and I am out of pocket some cash which should help with the motivation to push forward.
This will be something me and the boy will work on together. Don't really have a time line to finish it by... But once I am in... I am all in... I have always wanted to do. And with the poker game at the house up and running seems like now is the time to do it. Any of you that have built a Mame system before feel free to chime in and correct me on what will most likely be many mistakes. Raspberry Pi kit and Buttons / Joystick ordered Next figure out what design I want for a cabinet. ![]() Sent from my SM-G975W using Tapatalk |

![]() Ready to cut out the side panels. Added a couple of arcs to the design so that it is not so boxie looking.
Have my two sheets of MDF clamped together. One cut two panels. ![]() ![]() |

![]() Side panels cut. Hate using a jigsaw. Have to clean up the edges a bit with a sander.

![]() Raspberry pi and Joystick / Buttons showed up today. No idea how to program it yet. So this should be fun.
Ordered some t-molding to trim out the stand. ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G975W using Tapatalk |

![]() Decided to sit down and figure out the Raspberry pi side of things. Got Retropie installed fairly easy. Attempted to just down load some ROMs to test it out... However for some reason can't connect to the Pi even though I see it??
Then a buddy told me to down load a complete file that just had Retropie and games - so waiting for download. Picked up a spade bit and did a test hole to make sure I had the right size for my buttons. Looks good to me. Button itself looks rough around the edges because I did not peel the plastic of right. But I am stuck in this rabbit hole as to why I can not connect to the Pi via my network... Driving me crazy. ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G975W using Tapatalk Last edited by SVTF; 05-08-2019 at 02:02 PM.. |

![]() Just bouncing some thoughts around...
How are you trying to "connect to the Pi"? How can you "see it"?

When I set the country I enabled the WiFi (entered in the info for my network) turns out there is another spot to do the same thing that actully connects to the WiFi. #Newbie #ImOutOfTheRabbitHole Sent from my SM-G975W using Tapatalk |
