![]() Our old Dell desktop needs replaced and we're thinking about getting a laptop, but it has to have a large screen (17" plus?) per my wife (we won't be transporting this much if anywhere), and I would like it to be fast. Money isn't a *real big* issue, as we've been saving away.
Any suggestions? I really don't know much about laptops, as we've always had a desktop for our home use. What should I look for in as far as the insides of the computer? Processor? Memory? Etc... Oh, and she doesn't want a Mac Book. I like this, but I don't think I can talk her down from a larger screen. http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-15-9550-laptop/pd TYIA ![]() |

![]() Just a suggestion: Instead of getting a giant screened laptop, why don't you get a smaller screen, but get a large size older monitor to feed your video signal to. There are tons of large flat screen monitors on the cheap or ask around, somebody is always getting rid of one.

![]() Thanks, but we're trying to down size. We want to be able to close the laptop, and put it away / out of sight.
(I did offer the thought of a 2nd monitor up to the wife, but she reminded me that it defeats the purpose) |

![]() I might be a bit late to the party, but why not get one of these and hook it up to your TV. You will need to add Ram and a M2 drive to it, but it should out perform any laptop out there.
