A recent visitor to our basement suggested that I find a local interior designer to work with..
When I asked why he replied "so they could improve on my ideas" Excuse me?!?!? Improve how? I think the room has turned out pretty well thanks.. My experience (admittedly limited) has always been the "designer" is like a parasite.. Feeding off others ideas.. And doing nothing manual work wise.. But wanting 100% of the credit once the project is finished Interior designer? Er.. No thanks I think I can handle that part too..

I finally have the MAME cabinet second feed to the 55" bar TV.. The thinking being when we have "friendly "competitions" of say Street Fighter 2 and winner stays on.. Everyone else can watch the action on the bar TV instead of crowding around the cabinet

Oh and progress on the "space dolly" cabinets
2 of 3 built.. Custom made to display Hot Toys figures.. Which I will start collecting soon.. Hopefully..

Minor update.. Our kitchen is on the next floor up from the bar.. And at the opposite end of the house.. With the bar being pretty extensively sound proofed its impossible to hear people in the kitchen when you are in the bar (and visa versa)
So a while back id planned in adding an intercom system.. I couldnt find anything I liked/looked right.. So researched how to turn old phones into an intercom.. A friend kindly gave us this original 1950's pay phone.. And I made a booth for it to sit in.. I wanted to add a light to the phone.. So that when the music is pumping or all the pinballs playing and the phone is unable to be heard ringing.. The light would come on to show someone from the kitchen was calling. Just waiting for vinyl lettering that says "Telephone" to come in the mail.. To go over the light up section

As I mentioned at the start.. I dug 33 tons of clay out by hand.. And laid 8 tons of concrete.. Also by hand..
This short video shows you the room after the concrete went in.. Before the damp proofing, framing and wiring etc
