Will try to get some pics here, but recently came across a blackjack table for sale cheap on a local facebook garage sale page. It was $25, so I didnt think much. Figured it would be a small half moon banquet table or something, but lo and behold, I go to pick it up, and it is full casino size with a slot for cash drop, chip tray etc. Felt was ripped so I will be replacing that of course. One strange characteristic is that there is not a padded rail. Instead, the edge has a bent piece of wood that matches the legs. Not a bad look, but an actual rail would be nicer as I already use slide under rail drink holders for my poker table.

As far as the rail, would you use the top to trace a template for a regular wrapped rail? I am not the most gifted as it comes to building things. I built my poker table years ago and while it still stands and looks decent enough, certainly not top end like I've seen on this site. I was considering the "perfect padded rail rail". Or do I just refinish the wood and go with the original look and forgo cup holders?

Another option I am thinking of is that I can get a plexiglass top cut to same size to place over the playing surface so that it can double as a bar when not using it as a blackjack table. Anyone have any experience with cutting plexiglass? Do you think it is worth doing or should we just leave the blackjack table uncovered 24/7

This is very close to what I have but not quite exact.

You joined up and waited over 10 years to make your first post???? That somehow seems very impressive, even though it probably shouldn't be...

I like the idea of putting plexi over it and using it as a bar when not in use. As for the rail I'd probably go with the wood rail.

LOL. Been a long time lurker. Was a regular on Home Poker Tourney when it was active and followed some of the members here. Love seeing ideas and such, but never really had much to add.

Strange. I had one in my original post.

This is very close to what I have, but mine is beaten up pretty bad. I do have a steel chip tray, but it is oxidized so it is pretty rough and I am afraid it will wreck any of my better chips. A couple cigarette burns, and the wooden rail on mine does not go in front of the dealer position. Mine is also missing the frame for the cash drop.

Already have a replacement cloth picked out.

The legs I have with mine are slightly different and are at about a 50 degree angle. I also do not have a support beam between the two legs. I am working on putting in a beam in the middle. Unfortunately I am not skilled enough, or know someone skilled enough with access to a lathe and my support will likley wind up being square. The tough part is going to be to get the wood cut at the correct angle to match the table legs.
