Blake, nice work on the recipe you posted. I made it tonight and it was AWESOME. Here's the recipe for those of you that have not seen it before:

Satan's Hen House - White Chicken Chili

4-5 Boneless, skinless Chicken Breasts
2 cans Northern Beans, drained
1 medium Onion, diced
1 stick Butter or ½ cup Olive Oil
½ cup Flour
1 ½ cup Chicken Broth (1 can)
2 cups Half & Half
½ cup Sour Cream
2 tsp Salt
2 tsp White Pepper
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Liquid Smoke
2 – 4 oz. cans Chopped Green Chiles
1 Jalapeno Pepper, diced
1 Habanera Pepper, diced
2 cloves Garlic, diced
2 tsp Frank’s Hot Sauce
1 ½ Tbsp Chili Powder
1 Tbsp Cumin
2 cups Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese
¼ tsp Chili Extract * (Optional)
Toasted Tortilla Strips

Directions:
Season the chicken breasts with a mixture of the Garlic Powder, 1 tsp Salt and 1 tsp White Pepper and lay out in a shallow casserole dish. Add liquid smoke to 3 cups hot water and pour into dish. Cover with foil and poach in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes, turning chicken halfway through. Set aside to cool then shred or dice, however you prefer.

In a large heavy bottom pot, melt the stick of butter/heat olive oil and add Onion and Garlic. Sauté until onions are translucent, approx. 10 – 15 minutes. Whisk in Flour and cook for 3 – 5 minutes while constantly whisking. Add Chicken Broth and Half & Half, whisking constantly, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper, Chiles, Jalapeno, Habanera, Frank’s, Chili Powder , Cumin and Chili Extract* and let simmer another 5 minutes. Stirring constantly, slowly add in Sour Cream and Monterey Jack Cheese. Stir in drained Beans and chicken. Return to Boil and simmer for 20 – 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve up hot in bowl of choice and top with strips of toasted tortilla strips.

*Chili Extracts are not hot sauces; they are just that, a concentrated extract of Chiles. These tend to be extremely hot and can add a lot of heat using a small amount without any effect on the actual flavor of the dish. Satan’s Hen House gets its name from the use of Satan’s Blood Chile Extract. This extract has a heat scale rating of 800,000 SHU. As a point of reference, a Habanera Pepper has a SHU rating of 200,000. Use with caution, avoiding direct contact with skin, and adjust amounts as needed to get the heat level desired. There are hundreds of Extracts available at varying heat levels for a wide range of prices.

Disclaimer: This recipe is still “in development” so the amounts of spices/seasoning may need to be adjusted according to personal tastes. Dried spices/seasonings can have a very wide range of flavor intensity depending on so many factors you’ll just have to play with the amounts to find what works for you.

Glad you liked it. Now that its starting to get a little cooler I'm starting to get requests to bring it in to work. I've won the chili cookoff at work twice with it. I should have won it a 3rd time this year but I took second. I was told they basically gave me second because they just couldn't let me win again. That was fine with me because I'd heard several people didn't compete this year because they said 'why bother if we can't win'. Next year I'm not going to bother entering it. I prefer we have a good large competition to raise money (its for charity) than winning. So I'll retire it for a year or 2 then bring it back .

Just to note, these are the things I chose to do differently:

I used 2 serrano peppers instead of 1 habanera pepper
I threw the diced fresh peppers in with the onions when they were about half way done sauteing to release a bit more of the pepper flavor.
I added a can of drained sweet corn
I used homemade black beans just because I already had them on hand
I used cholula hot sauce instead of franks since I had it on hand
I used more chicken broth and less half and half that the recipe called for
Served it with fresh sourdough loaf, sliced and toasted, instead of tortilla chips

Overall 5 out of 5 swanky's. My mouth is already watering thinking about having it for lunch.

Awesome changes there Tim, I do the same thing. Luckily it's an easy recipe to change up how you want. One good time saver I've done is use a rotisserie chicken instead of making my own. It's already seasoned and cooked..just have to cut it up.

I also like to serve it up in a bread bowl when I can find some good ones or make them.
