How would one go about getting an invite? Need to find an existing customer?

typically. yes. find someone with invites.
or chime in on one of the torrent forums where they are pretty easy to come by. just need to hunt around a bit.
members who give them out to new guys who just leech or hit and run makes the inviter look bad and gets -rep for it, so it's not often a known member would give an unknown an invite.
probably start at opentrackers or torrent-invites
