Default Acrylic for lighted rail?

Can anyone give me some idea of where to find the light diffusing white acrylic strips that I see on the lighted rail poker tables?

That is the only thing I can't find or fabricate (unless someone knows how to fabricate it from clear Plexiglas from HD or Lowes?)

Any ideas?

Something like this:

Is that stuff "bumpy" on both sides or just one side? I would prefer the "smooth" side facing out if there is a smooth side.

A local sign shop can usually do it for you. Just ask them for plexi or lexan strips which will be backlit. They'll sometimes even cut it into strips for you.

Perfect! I have a close friend (used to work for me) that owns a FASTSIGNS shop. She can probably hook me up.

So I did find a local sign shop and they gave me a piece of acrylic "scrap" (for free) that is 5' x 2', which should easily give me 4 strips 2 inches tall by 5 feet long, which should be enough with lots to spare in case I screw up while cutting it. I have a 200 tooth 10" table saw blade which I hope will cut it pretty clean.

Thanks for the sign shop idea.

Any advice on cutting / bending? It is flexible enough that I could almost just bend it into place without any heat, but it would probably be just enough to risk breaking it.

put painters tape along the line you plan to cut on both sides. Should help prevent ragged cuts/splintering.

you don't need a table saw to cut this, a straight edge and a razor blade.....score it....snap it .....clean cut every time....
I use one of these....

This is by far the best I've found.

Huge array of different types of acrylic....different thicknesses and levels of light transparency....and they will cut it to your exact dimension.

And their prices are fantastic.

I went to a Fast Signs and they wanted a ridiculous amount of money in comparison.
