I wanted to post a quick update to this. I've switched over to Anyvite for tourney notifications and have been using that successfully for the last few months. The email notifications got stuck in a few spam filters at first, but we seem to have that worked out now. Not quite as many options as evite, but it's very stable and reliable which is what I was really looking for. The guys who have iPhones and such also prefer Anyvite, they say it's easier to see/respond on mobile devices than with evite.

This is all I use anymore and everybody seems to like it better than Evite.

Tried to send out a poker invite today with Anyvite and it seems it has bit the dust due to issues with "spammers" relaying email through them. The site is kind of an afterthought to the creators at this point, they say they're not really working on it anymore, it just is. So they shut down any new event creations for non-paid accounts.

After it got shut down for free accounts, they got some new interest in a cheaper subscription for people who only needed to send 10-15 invites a year or so. So they created a $5 as you go monthly deal.

Guy who created the site seems to really be torn on keeping it running or just turning the whole thing off. Said he really didn't do this to try and drum up more paid subscriptions, isn't offering much support because he doesn't have time for the product or the ability to cover it with any staff, etc.

Any new good alternatives? I'm looking to do maybe 6-8 invites a year. I could just go back to evite I guess, but I really liked how simple Anyvite was.

I personally have never done this as a host, but several new poker groups that I recently joined are organized entirely through a private facebook group. The group could even include several hosts and when a host wants to have a game they can make a new post with all the details and anyone interested in locking up a seat just replies to that thread. It seems to work pretty well in terms of allowing easy organization and everyone can see how quickly a game is filling up. The only downside I can think of is if several of your regular players don't have FB.

I'm in the same boat RC, I went back to Evite for my last event but already miss the simplicity of Anyvite. If it was something like $10 for the year I'd probably pay for it, but that's about it. Facebook not an option for me as well. Let us know if you find anything.

I use homepokersystem.com for my league. You can have up to 50 members, track points and payouts as well as season stats. The free version gives you up to 50 and the paid gives you unlimited plus some extra features like adding photos and forums but the free version works great.
