Oh and the installers said the existing electrical won't interfere with the cat-5 line, just follow the holes and lines they've already placed. So we did that. And I'll do that for the speaker wire...

Yeah, I didn't even THINK about cat-5 until searching the interwebz! Hmmmm.....we have a kick ass wireless router now. But if I wanted to hard wire some things, or let my kids use a cat-5 cable...

That's what I thought. 18 gauge speaker wire would be all I really need right? Staple it vertically down the beams? On the horizontal runs, would/should I drill small holes through the beams in order...

Alright, so we're building a new home. They've completed framing but haven't drywalled yet, but should next week. A friend who live close by, a street over actually, asked for a tour and we obliged...
