Re: Trann's Man Cave

Four day weekend? Why, yes, I'd like to rebuild that shower laying all over my floor.

When I disassembled it, I put the small parts into separate Solo cups to keep track of things: shower pan...

Re: Trann's Man Cave

Top lino installed; no reason to cover the whole space, really. Created a jig to get the curve for the floor boards going down.

Re: Trann's Man Cave

I may take forever to do a thing but I won't leave projects (or threads) unfinished. 8)

Painting was simple enough and the edges are feathered so nicely into the existing painted surface that...

Re: Trann's Man Cave

Change of plans: the previous image showed cuts to the far wall across the middle of the inset. I realized that was going to be a pain to level out so I cut it back to above the inset. Then I...

Re: Trann's Man Cave

So the mystery tube appears to be a mistake and will be covered. No other news on that front.

The floor rebuild went as well as expected: DRIcore tiles cut to fit, offset seams, and shimmed to...

Re: Reupholstering my poker table

I'm with mike but I'd also check if the table is flexing as well: beefing up the rail won't help if the table itself is too thin. You might be better off with a support sheet for the table as a...

Re: Trann's Man Cave

Thank you. I just came from your thread and thought we had somewhat similar space and layouts so it was nice to see another style I could have done. 8)

Re: Trann's Man Cave

My thread, my bump. 8)

Almost eight years ago, my man cave bathroom was completed. Things were good.

Hunted down and eradicated.

Word of caution: don't quote the spammer's content. It makes removing the spam more labour intensive. KTHXBYE!11

Re: Horse Racing Simulator for Casino Nights?

This is the simplest style you could replicate, I think:

I've seen horse track racing games used with varying sizes and quality: light...

Re: Trann's Water Heater Stories

I did say, "short of" so that's "no bet", sir!

And no games here until a good snow and freeze up. You remember that sloppy road you found one early morning? Imagine them all like that right now....

Re: Trann's Water Heater Stories

Guess who hand-tightened the lines to the tank so well they didn't show signs of leaking until two days later? Just a dribble, seeping through the threads. Wrenched things tight.

A few more days...

Re: Trann's Water Heater Stories

It's free-standing and not secured to anything: flat prairie, no fault lines near; sitting on the North American Craton so pretty darn stable. Short of running at it, I don't think it's tipping any...

Re: Trann's Water Heater Stories

Happy to share.

I almost did go up to the valve and cut the hot side high enough to get a gentle S curve but then I realized that the short cold side didn't have as much room, even for the shorter...

Trann's Water Heater Stories

There's a few threads on here about hot water tanks/water heaters but few offer pretty pictures to illustrate. I hadn't planned on sharing much more than what I did in the "latest purchase" thread...

Re: Get Wrinkles out of Table Padding / Foam?

I don't think those creases are going to hurt too much and leaving it flat to relax should bring some of it back to life. Not all, as you say, but...

Re: Euro 2016 Final; Portugal v France

With only 3 winners, I wouldn't worry about it. Chips are meaningless these days.

Re: My man cave design

Great start! Look forward to the build process.

My only suggestion is to reconsider the stand-behind bar and go self-serve: one man working on serving drinks is (in my experience) a rarity; all...

Re: 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Winner

I'd close this but haven't done so in a long while; I thought editing it would allow me to but... whatever. No one wins, anyway.

2016 NHL Stanley Cup Winner

I didn't think of this until today... bet coming (Take 2)

This should take bets up until broadcast start (usually 10-15 minutes before puck drop). I hope.

Re: Custom Boulder "Ramps" for vehicle display?

Pretty much. The chicken wire is your substructure and the fabric is the skin over top; you may want to double it up if the textured spray doesn't stick well to a single layer. That stuff has...

DIY Murphy Bed

I don't normally post other people's work, but this was just too damn simple and yielded impressive results. I'm only showing the final product because how it hides is surprisingly well done, so you...
