I'm in the process of looking at sheds for my man cave. I went to Home Depot and they have a pretty nice shed that's 12 x 16 for a pretty good price. Here's what I'm thinking about doing with it.
-Put in insulation -Ceramic tiling for floor -Put in electricity -Put in a tv, with a bunch of old video game systems -mini fridge -Futon -AC/heater Any ideas as to what else I should put in there/subtract? Thanks, guys. |

Oh, I'm also going to put a pipe rack and a microwave in there.

The problem with that is that I don't really have any DIY experience. I am afraid things would go horribly wrong. Is it really difficult to build a shed?

It's not terribly difficult, but you certainly need some solid carpentry skills.
If you're not comfortable with buying 2X4s, plywood, etc. etc., then buying the prebuilt shed isn't a bad option, it just gives you less customization to a degree on exactly what you want as far as size, location of windows, etc. If you can easily get over that, you'll find much to do with adding power, plumbing, etc. I'd say a nice spot to hang out, have a beer, watch the game, throw some darts, etc. and have the guys over for a few smokes or whatever would work well, and perhaps a prefab unit may not be a bad choice. You can easily add drywall should you choose, make mods and customizations to it once you get it standing, and go from there.
