I have an old Panasonic stereo I keep on my sunporch with an equally old 3 CD player (Model SL-DH66). The 15-prong cable, part #REX0485-1 has been lost, rendering the CD player (which still has an unknown CD in it) useless.
Anyone know where I can find one?
Panasonic no longer has them. I actually ordered one from partstore.com, but received an email today that they could no locate one. I also checked www.mcmelectronics.com, but they had none available.
Any ideas or suggestions?

find an old model of it and cannibalize it from it.

Any reason not to just go buy a "new" $30 cheapy CD player to replace the entire unit? I mean, you CAN get the CD out with a screwdriver & some muscle, you know. ;)

No, other than I hate to throw away an otherwise perfectly good piece of equipment.
I *AM* curious, though as to what CD is in there...

Buchy, you want a 9-month old Phillips DVD burner? It just stopped working...no power to it. Guy at the electronics shop wants $75 to open it up... I can get a new one for $50...
It includes a blank DVD in the tray...

I have a functioning VCR (video cassette recorder) with Infrared Remote (wireless). It's yours if you pay for the shipping. I'll throw in the power cord for free.
paypal $50 for shipping and packaging. :)

Yeah, ordered there. They place the order and a few days later you get an email telling you they don't have it. :(

Damn! I was very optimistic that you'd come through for me there, dermaestro. I signed up on the website, could not order the original part, but was given a listing for a replacement part with is also NLA... no longer available.
Fuck it.
If I break the thing, then I would need to replace it. :)

Yeah, I'm finding a lot of places that list it but aren't stocking it. I even looked on Craigslist and no luck.

That's fucking funny right there!
I think, however, I just found it, in part due to chasing links from dermaestro's links!
I ordered the part and will just hope that they don't email me in 2 days and say its not available.
Otherwise, I have just the hammer in mind...
