...thought maybe somebody else may find this helpful...

I finally reached the end of my patience with that little drain valve underneath my vertical air tank/compressor. Got tired of having to nearly lay on the floor in order to open it to drain the tank after using it. So, I rigged up the setup below to make it much more user-friendly than the stock setup.

I think I spent about $15 in parts, shown in the 2nd pic (except the 2' of tubing, no box for that). All was purchased at Lowe's. It's just a "T", stock drain valve (now not used, it's just plugging the other side of the "T"), a couple barbed threaded connectors, 2' of hose, couple hose clamps and a ball valve. It could be made cheaper by using another stock drain valve in place of the ball valve, but the ball valves are so nice and easy to use...

Nice idea. I have to get a pair of pliers out every so often to open the drain valve on mine if I haven't used it in a while. What a PITA.

And I probably have most of the parts required for this lying around the house. I have hi-pressure beverage tubing, clamps, and some barbed fittings (left over from my fountain pop machine). I'll have to seriously give this some thought once I start cleaning out the garage in the spring from the move-in to the new house (the garage is an absolute mess right now and I don't know where I'm putting the compressor yet).
