Anyone have one???? Anyone build one before????

In my short lived cleaning of the garage...I gotta get the kid some lunch and a shower before school....I happened upon 5 of my old sticks from back in the days of pond hockey and 40 lbs fewer.

So I was going to throw them up in the attic of the garage, with my hockey gear, but got to thinking how it would be sweet to make my bro a smallish end table out of these hockey sticks. 4 of them are random wooden sticks and 1 is a comp stick with a removeable blade.

Just looking for some ideas.

I don't really want to go out and buy a bunch of new sticks to make a goddamn table, but realize I may have to. But if I get new, the old beat to hell sticks will look, well beat to hell and would be a bad mix with the new.

My friend made one thats rather sweet. He went to the local rink and picked up all the old broken sticks to complete his table. With all the new composite sticks this may be a harder task.

called the rink about 5-10 miles away. Pro shop doesn't open till 3, but the lady said there was a stick in the garbage can.

Now I just gotta get a kid to wrangle up all the old broken sticks for me for a few weeks and I'm golden. I'm going to hold out some hope that the pro shop will do it for me, I may sweeten the deal for the owner of the pro shop and make him one if I have any extra sticks left over.

I may have gotten a hook up for sticks. One of our softball players is a goalie for the JV team. So I've got her on the look out for broken sticks for me.

My ? now is this.

Pretty much all the sticks are composite sticks. I'm guessing they are going to shatter a bit with the kevlar and what not in the sticks. Am I going to be able to cut these sticks with my jig saw??? I imagine a metal cutting blade should be able to get the job done. Yes??

Use a chop-saw, it's what I use to cut mine to length.

:)

(although a jig saw set at high speed can do the trick, I'm sure...)
