bigslick's chowder thread got me thinking about one of my family's cold weather favorites. Beef stew. And it doesn't get any easier than this...
I start about lunchtime to have it ready for supper.
In a crock pot put in 1 15oz. can of small whole potatoes, small handful of baby carrots, and a large sweet onion. I cut the onion into about eight pieces. Sprinkle with McCormick's Worcestershire pepper.

Brown a couple pounds of lean beef in a couple tablespoons of oil (use bacon grease if you have it.) Toss in crock pot. Sprinkle with McCormick's Worcestershire pepper.

Mix 2 cups of boiling water with a packet of McCormick's Au Jus mix. Pour in crock pot. Add another 15oz. can of small whole potatoes, and a few more baby carrots. Sprinkle on some more pepper and pour about 1/4 cup of A1 Steak Sauce over top.

Set the crock pot on high. Go watch the ballgames and catch a nap. 4-5 hours later, come back and set your crock pot on "Keep Warm" (if your pot doesn't have that setting use Low) for the last hour or so.
