I am in the planning stages of a garage do over. Its going to be turned into a poker/game room for me adn the kids. My question for you all is what heating options and ac options are out there. I am debating whether or not to block the garages doors in and make a door or just leave it the way it is. I am also intereste in what flooring options there are out there

I'm confronting the same question if/when I turn my garage into a man cave.
Are your garage walls insulated? Is the ceiling insulated? How close is the HVAC or would you have to install a new unit?
The contractor who's doing our kitchen remodel talked with me informally about what our garage would need. He was talking about everything from baseboard units to forced air taking advantage of heated air in the attic above the garage. Not sure where we'll end up.
I turned my garage into my man cave. Initially I went with some portable A/C units. I soon found out that it was no where near enough A/C for the Florida heat. This was in addition to an insulated garage door, blowing insulation into the attic space above the garage.
The man cave is no longer, but has since been turned into our workshop for the chips. Knowing we could not work in that heat I bought a Split Unit AC/Heat system. Got it online for $1500 shipped. It is 24,000 BTU and works perfect. It came with all the necessary lines and electrical to hook it up and get it running.
The hardest part was finding someone who would install the thing. I went through every mom and pop A/C place and no one would install it, since it wasn't their equipment or they weren't familiar with the install. This was even after I ran the electrial cal connection outside, poured the concrete pad, and installed the bracket for it to hang on.
I finally had to call one of the local big boys of A/C and they charged me $760 to do the install.

A great option for the flooring is Snap lock Flooring or Race Deck you can find it at snaplock.com, It is about a quarter inch thick plastic and does an excellent job of insulating the concrete floor, it looks great too.

Hello Dan-
Welcome!
Could you do me a fav. and please PM me to figure out something on the commercial links. We're not against them, not my any means, but would like to understand if you're interested in a sponsorship / link exchange of some sorts.
Much thanks-
This is a great sign... we have other vendors coming in now!
Welcome Dan! Just went through your site and you got some awesome stuff on there. I see your Man Cave Pictures section is "Coming Soon" There are plenty of people on here who would submit pictures to help with the content on that page.
Soon as Q gets you hooked up with a forum let us know and you will have more pictures than you will know what to do with.
