Not so much the Mancave as it is the way INTO the man cave. The garage has always been a crappy-garage entrance. So I thought I'd dress up this area a bit (as it's heated so its the perfect smoking lounge) and put some left over tile on the garage floor.
I had some from a job that looked nice so today we started putting it down, while I run to pick up another 100 sq ft..."what can it be...3 somethin a foot?"
Don't forget I get tile from the wholesaler. Stuff turns out to be almost $7 a foot, MY COST!! ($12/ft retail) 16x16 polished porcelain..

Anyways..whadya think so far 16x16 polished porcelain.. (at the end of today)

The tile is gonna look good there. Throw in some leather chairs and end tables with ash trays and you will have it looking good.

Looks awesome - I'm thinking about the epoxy floor for my garage - maybe as early as week after next.

Finished patching the holes in the walls...new mud and tape and painted the walls. Makes a huge difference. Tile is all grouted. I put 12" tile base so now I can just hose the whole thing out come spring cleaning. In the meantime a couple leather chairs and a brass pole would be ideal!! I could fit two tables and 22 chairs for my large tourneys in there.

Dave...looks great

but.....you might want to put the sharp garden utensils away so that someone suffering a bad beat won't be tempted! LOL

Overkill? That tile looks WAY too good. Very nice. Your games were just elevated a notch.

Can you park a car on that without having to worry about the tiles?

Thanks guys....yeah the sharp tools might have to be hidden lol.
It's probably overkill for the average guy....but most of it was leftover tile from another job. So all in all, the floor cost me under $500. Labour is free! :)

Can you park a car on that without having to worry about the tiles?

Yes. its frost-rated porcelain tile. Same material used in shopping malls and new-car showrooms. We'll be parking our 5,000 lb Suburban on top of it.

Haloween is gonna be a ROCKIN good poker party. I'll post lots of pics

Wow that looks awesome. What would soemthing like that cost if you were to pay regular price for the stuff? I need to get some cabinets for mine and get it organized. Wife has pretty much give me the green light to go ahead and git er done

Well only an idiot (raising hand) would put that nice of tile on a garage floor. That tile ($12.50 per foot) plus labour, for that floor (325 sq ft) would cost about $5500! But you could find a decent tile for about $3 per foot...plus labour of about $5 per foot.

I'd hate to see the Suburban catch some road shrapnel (pebbles, metal, etc..) in it's treads and then etch scratches in that nice tile.

Nah...polished porcelain, grade 5, frostproof....almost impossible to etch. You'd have to drag the truck across the tile with the tires locked, in order to scratch them. Thats why they use them in car dealership showrooms. Durable, easy to clean, and shows off the vehicles nicely.
