I am planning to start building my 1st table... off the info i can find on scott's forums, and of course... on the info i can find over here....

Right now, off the bat, i just bought my 1st house last winter, and was not really equipped...

Now, over the last couple of months, i bought and was given many tools... full set of Ryobi 18v electric tool set (which contains a trimming router) drill... etc...

I just also got myself a Serpentine Saw... you know, those type of saw that combines the convenience of a jigsaw and the clean cuts of a router..

I wonder... poker table building wise... what do you think about a serpentine saw? Good tool that can replace a jigsaw and router to do the 1st cuts?

I'm a bit of a tool geek and I've never heard of a serpentine saw. Will have to look into it...

edit: just googled "serpentine saw" and only found about 8 relevant hits. Looks like a Canadian item, as all of the hits were from .ca

I think if all you're doing is poker tables, then this might work OK for cutting plywood. The reviews were pretty mixed - sounds like it will work with some compromises. If you think that poker tables might lead to other projects, you can't go wrong with a good router.
