Hello all,
I have been waiting to post the pics of the tables I built, and finally am taking the time to put them in here.
The first table I built without any guidance and instructions from people who knew anything about building a poker table. I made the playing surface from a piece of particle board that was laying around our shop. The padded rail is from sections of 1 x 3s sawed and glued together with biscuits. I put plywood under the particle board for the rail to sit on after the brackets I tried to use didn't work. The table padding is smooth carpet padding and the padding for the rail is also carpet padding (two layers) The cloth is something I found at Walmart and is very similar in feel and water resistance to the suited speed cloth. The pedestal I got from a furniture store that was going out of business for $35.00. Anyway picture is below, although it is not a thing of beauty it is very playable.

At some point after the first table was finished, I found the "old place". It made me feel very inadequate as a table builder. Looking at all the beautiful creations in there gave me table envy and I needed to build another. I saw the 58" round the Tandemrx had built and that was what I decided to build. I sent Tandemrx a message through the site and he was very helpful with information about his table and what went into building it. I think that was when he posted the schematic of how everything fit together. I did deviate slightly from the design, no gilding and a little lighter on the stain, and I did not sew the vinyl together, instead I used the Quad's stretch method.
Thanks to YAT for the suited speed cloth, playing surface padding, rail padding, and the Symphony vinyl for the rail.
Baltic Birch Plywood from the Cleveland Plywood Co. Best prices I could find around the Cleveland area and delivery was only $10.00
I got the cupholders and pedestal from my own poker supplies site fcipoker.com 10" maple pedestal with claw feet and brass cupholders. If you need a pedestal for one you are building check my site.

Thanks to all who posted hints and tips either here or at the old place.
