I think JLew has some. Anyone else have a set. I was thinking about making a set just to make a set. I also have some spare Field Turf remanants in the garage that I plan on lining the boxes with.

Just wondering what is the best and or traditional design. I've seen the flat rectangular boards with 3 holes in them and I have seen the squares with a pvc pipe in the middle. Not sure which design to go with. I'm leaning to the squares with the pipe in the middle.

Show em off.

I have some pics of the 2 sets I have I'll throw them up when I get home.

I think the game is also called yuk-a-pu or something like that.

Ok if I can find the plans I used I'll link to them but here is what I have learned and materials I used.
1. Use 1/2" plywood, on mine I used 1/4" and it seems to bounce too much.
2. I used 4" PVC for the holes, and 3.5" washers.
3. My brother in law but a board base on his, I did not. Some people like that, seeing as you don't have to reach down to the concrete to get the washers, but sometimes your washers slide under the pipe and the base.
4. He also wrapped the carpet down into the holes, which i liked.
5. If you use 1/2" ply then you don't have to use 2x4's in the middle.
6. We used hole saws for all the cuts. I think a 4" hole saw is perfect for 3.5" PVC pipe. Very snug.
7. Outdoor carpeting was from Home Depot and Menards.
8. The holes are on 1 foot spacings.

I'll get some better shots this weekend and put them up.

To play you spread the boards about 6 feet apart and throw while standing on the opposite board.
First hole is worth 1 point, second 2, and third 3 points.
First person throws all his washers (3), then the other guy goes.
We usually play 2 person teams (similar to cornhole)
If both teams washers go in the same hole then they cancel the points. (ie if I throw and get 1 washer in the second hole, then you go and get 1 washer in the second hole and another in the first hole, you score 1 point. 1 point for the first hole, and then you cancel my 2 points)
After the first round the team that scored the most points the previous round throws first.
If you manage to get all 3 washers in the same hole, or get 1 in all three holes you win.
You play to 21. And you must hit it exactly. If you go over then you go down the points you went over.

I really like washers better than cornhole.

I've always played 1-3-5 for points, and with the front of the boards 10' apart. I've seen them with a rope attached to both sides, so you never have to worry about measuring. I also never heard of the automatic win scenarios either, but otherwise, the rest of the rules are pretty standard.

I've only seen the 3 hole board on the net. I've only seen the box with 1 pipe in the middle at the pool store and the like.

But you acutally stand up on the board? I never would have thought you did that.

What are the dimensions of the boards? I'm guessing it is 4' x 2' with a 2x4 frame.

My next thing is that the Field Turf I have has long blades of "grass" about 3" long or so. I'm thinking that may play a factor in the sliding of the washer to the cup.

Finally, you said you used 4" pvc and 3.5" washers, then followed up with a 4" hole saw cuts a perfect hole for a 3.5 pvc pipe. Well which is it? 4" pipe with a 4" hole saw or 3.5" pipe, with 3.5" washers?

Sorry I don't have my boards here at the moment, or my hole saw, but I'll double check all the measurements of the pipe, the saw and the washers this weekend. I'm thinking that the hole saw is a different size. I'm trying to go from memory here and I built them last year.
The long blades may affect the roll or slide yes.
And yes we and I think most people stand on the boards to play.

I built mine the same week I made a set of corn hole boards. I also made a ladder golf game. The plan was to take them all to tailgate before the Nationwide Series Nascar race here in KY last year. The ladder golf game and the washers have not moved since. Nothing quite compares to the corn hole boards.

My 2 cents

a) I'm bored

B) I'm looking for other options for my 5 year old. I think washers may be a bit easier, due to the proximity of the boards.

C) I have a large amount of field turf that I'm looking to encoroporate into a project.

Ok PVC pipe is 4" OD and 3.5" ID. Which is 4" PVC, schedule 40 I believe.
4" hold saw works great for the 4" PVC
Washers I got are 3" Dia. I think they are something like 1.25 washers. Waters True Value carries them.

Board dimensions are I believe 2x4' I'll check that this weekend.

On my brother in laws set he used a 3.5" hole saw for the top and secured the pipe underneath the top piece of ply with some scrap ply on both sides of the pipe. So the pipe does not come up flush with the top of the board.

He then put a bottom on the whole thing.

Pics to follow (after Sat)

I like washers the best.
