Went to Winstar casino in OK last night. bought in for $200 (max) on a 1/2 nl game.
The cards I got were sick and combined with a passive table, things went my way. I had pocket k's at least 3 times. Able to see a flop with practically any 2 cards for $2. caught some nice turns and rivers for real cheap. I don't think but 2 or 3 of us understood the meaning of pot odds. :confused:
The guy to my right folded his $1 small blind countless times to an unraised pot with 5-6 players :confused:. WTF???
Ironically the smallest pot I won was $3 with pocket aces. No callers to my $8 raise....
Best hand of the night was the last. My buddy had burned up $500 and was ready to go. I was in the middle of a hand. In small blind, I limped in with :Ac:2h
flop came :3s:5c rag - I bet, I think, $8 thinking maybe I could just scoop the $12 or so. Had 2 callers, both young aggressive guys that had just joined the table 20 mins prior. One was on my right 9the button) who replaced the dipstick who couldn't afford $1.
Turn was a 4! bingo! I checked knowing one of these guys would bet, and they did. Maybe $10 - can't remember. Still 3 of us - river was crap. No paired board, no flush. I checked again, risking the chance to value bet but confident one of those guys would go after it. first guy bet $20, then dealer raised to $60. I pushed out $150 (had about $400 before the hand started). The first guy folded, and dealer pushed all in $170. I called the last $20 of course.
I took down the monster pot!!!!
The young guy was pissed - I racked the chips and left - they knew it was my last hand because I was talking to my buddy about leaving.
Took home a $463 profit for the night!!!
