Alienware Hangar-18 (http://www.alienware.com/products/hangar-18-home-entertainment-center.aspx?SysCode=PC-HANGAR18-HDEC-R1&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT)
I'd like to get a home theater pc and this looks really cool.
Anyone have one of these or heard anything about them?

You get Blu-Ray, HD-DVR, 5.1 audio, plus anything else you can do on a computer, all hooked up to your HD TV.

You can get that with most laptops. Friend has a Dell inspiron 1525 with an HDMI port. Missing the Blu-ray but its an option when you build it.
That does look cool tho, but for the price I think you could get better.

So essentially a Tivo, DVD / BR Player / PC based Media Center on roids?
What I don't like about it is that you are locked into that as an amp, as I can't see where you can put that into a pre-amp mode.
If I'm going to spend 2200 buck, I want a better amp than they are providing. They provide nothing with regards to the amps specifications on the specs page.
Me thinks my money might be better spent with a high end AV switch and separate components.
For someone looking for all in one, take out of box, make work, probably a decent solution.

After reading it, it seems like a waste

Most home theater PC are not quite cooked. You'd probably do better home building one yourself. It looks okay, I didn't check all the specs, but beware if they offer anything that is cablecard ready...that is a horrible lie, cablecard hasn't been able to roll out an acceptable spec for cablecard ready computers that don't have miles of problems.
