Okay, not really AV (but I wanted to post somewhere else other than OT)...

A friend asked me if I had experience with Vista (I have had little). She said she bought a new PC for her parents and is having a ton of problems. I asked her to describe them and she said:

constant crashing and rebooting and also some kind of incompatibility issue with Internet Explorer

Save the "use Mozilla" and "get a Mac" comments. Any help you can guys offer?

Is it Vista SP1? Id say to make sure it's SP1 and see if it functions. Also, if they attempted to install an older version of IE it will bomb. IF they got it form HP/Dell/etc. re install using the restore that comes with the machine (or if they are a bit more savy, use an OS CD/DVD and reburn it.

Honestly, it sounds as if you need all the updates and hotfixes to install first.
