First... I have Direct TV so let's start there. The DVR I got last month has On Demand but I have to hook up an network cable to it to use it. Now my DSL modem/router is on the other side of the house and I don't want to crawl under the fucking house to run Cat 5 if I can help it.

Is there a wireless adapter of some sort that I can use?

I have a wireless router broadcasting in the house but the DVR just has an ethernet port on the back.

Help a brother out.

You gotta have two lines to and from.
I went through the headache when we converted from Comcast to Direct. My issue (not exactly yours, but similar) was that I couldn't watch one station, and record another, simultaneously. It requires a second piece of coax.

So in your case, if all you need is a network connection, could you do wireless?
Sure. Set up an AP at the DVR, that links (wireless connection) to your main access point / router.

Or get your lazy ass under the house and pull the cable.
Cable, 20 buck. / 1 hour

Access Points, cables, config. etc. $75 buck / 1 hour.

My Direct TV already has the double coax runs for recording one and watching another.

Actually, I'm going to be under there anyway since my wife decided to remodel the kitchen. New cabinets and shit. Means I'm moving all kinds of plumbing, I guess while I'm under there I'll run some network cables. Fuck, I'd rather pay $75 and fucking with setting one up though.... but since I'm down there anyway.

if your router works well i recommend a linksys wga-600n dual band wireless-n gaming adapter, like the one to connect an x-box and that works fine, its sorta slow but it adds the on demand dl's to the dvr, you cant watch it immediately, so you can load up what you want and still watch live t.v with two coaxs coming in then check the dvr. the adapter was kinda pricey though but if you dont want to run cables its worth it plus you can move the adapter room to room if you have multiple boxes and get the on demand anywhere without running wires to each box.
