So like a few others this is more my space then my wife's but not a mancave per say more of a a place for me to get away.

When we moved in this was a wide open 22 x 24 = 528 sq feet.

The basement really has 3 uses: 1st - My computer/poker space (room for 2 - 9 man tables) - 2nd laundry room - 3rd a little storage.

This was the 1st time I have ever attempted to do anything like this before, had great help from the father in law (we used all his tools - I had notta). I learned so much while doing this preoject.

ie. framing, insulation, electirical, using different power tools, drywall and how not to and why you should not use a lot of screws

This is still a work in progress.

Left to do:

-Crack fill - going to hire someone and willing to pay more because of all the screws :)
-The Floor
-Finish the inside wall of the laundry room

So here are some pictures:

This is just after we moved in and all the lumber was in the basement for framing. We would move all of our stuff to one corner and we framed the other corner so we got a good workout at the same time.

The lumber pile is getting smaller.

Time for drywall. Yes I know too many screws.
-Before we put the drywall up,I insulated the exterior walls.

Feel free to ask questions and or criticize the armature construction.

It was alot of fun doing this project and will update the thread when I get some more $ to finish the project.

Thanks for looking.

I'm guessing you had to cut your drywall into smaller pieces to get it down the stairs? That's going to be more work mudding and taping for sure which sucks, but otherwise looking good.

No they are all 8 foot pieces all around. I just had to knock out a couple of studs to get around the corner at the bottom of the stairs.

I was lucky they just fit.

I finished mine in 6 months, if i could give you one piece of advice. Take your time and youll save money and itll be a more pleasureable experience. I rushed through mine and wasted cash when i coulda been saving and doing things a little cheaper. Just my two cents

Looks great - damn I wish we had bsements here in TX.

I'm amused at the amount of screws in that dywall!...... Who's idea was that to use so many? Don't worry though. There's plenty of mistakes that have far worse reprocussions. As long as they're driven in far enough to mud over it's really not an issue. If some are not dimpled in though, you or a contractor will have a hell of a time. Personally, I'd go get a 5 gallon bucket of mud, some tools, and tape and start working on it yourself. It's a good skill to learn. It's a basement, so it doesn't have to be perfect.

Where's the bar going to be? :)
