The main thread for the construction progress is over in the other section, but here's a few before & after shots.

Planning took place from 6/2007 - 8/2007.
Construction began on 10/15/2007 and finished in early December.

The theater area- inwall speakers, an IR-repeater to capture and send remote control signals to the A/V closet, a plug-in for xbox360, home made 100" screen, bordered by black velveteen- turned out better than I imagined.

yeah, very comfy. we thought this would be the kids hangout, and we'd just be down here for poker or parties... but helllll no- this place is too sweet. the kids hang out upstairs and the wife & I pretty much live down here in the evenings.
