I figured I'd post this question because I've always thought about build a bar; whether permanent or mobile, I'm always looking for ideas and design.

Has anyone built a bar for their home? What materials, countertops, taps, sinks, shape, etc. did you include? How did you do it?

I think this could be a separate section within the Man Cave building sphere. Let's get this place jumping though.

I will begin building my bar this weekend. Gonna be an 8 footer with a built-in icebox big enough for 2 kegs and a 2 tap tower. Just gotta go buy the wood to start framing it out. Will be posting pics soon.

About 10 years ago I turned a bar into a coffee shop - and part of the process was removing the bar that was in place and building a new one. We had a spot for a commercial dishwasher, 2 sinks, ordering spot, pickup spot, sandwich making area, etc... Pretty fun to do, but I don't have any pictures readily available.

We used 2x4s and 2x2s with plywood on the sides (and covered the plywood with metal roofing material to give it a coffee bar look. We had a guy come in and do some very cool laminate on top - different designs, etc. All the customers loved it!

Every time I see this thread, I think it says *build-a-bear*.
