"Gun" room will [quickly] gather the interest of several members. There will be dancing in the streets.
Seriously though.... you're going to get rid of the 1974 wood paneling? That's so pimp... for the lack of a better word!
Welcome to the forum. Looking forward to updates.

are you planning a safe or something for gun storage, or hanging on the all, and the room itself acting as the 'gun safe'?

I can't quite make out the titles, but I assume Top Gun is in there, Swanky?

You need to chat with jp and talk about burning those DVD's to a TB hard drive... Then you can stream them to your TV via the Xbox.
Don't think we missed the picture of Yankee Stadium on the wall (RIP). It almost makes up for the Fighting Irish flag... Almost.

Okay, welcome and blah, blah, blah. You seem like a decent guy, so lemme give you some advice.
A.) Don't mention guns unless you already have pictures uploaded and ready to post. Seriously. You're lucky JCinPA hasn't seen this yet, though with jp frog commenting on it, JC is probably trying to connect with his blackberry right now.
2.) Even though you're acquainted with Redneck Rebel, we're willing to overlook that.
D.) Avoid any questions about any female counterpart in your life. Just trust me on this. It'll be worse than the gun inquisition that you're about to face.

reason for the cabinet is i also do work for other gun owners. nothing major just as in polish the barrel and paint the engravings. like you see on the XD.
not much on the guns right now. i was out of work for 3 months or so. hopefully be making more money and buying more guns.

also to answer the other question. no it is not a safe for my gun. one gun is always on me no matter what and the other stays on my night stand. bedroom door gets locked when i leave. if company is over it gets locked in that cabinet and what not....most people that come over are cops so it is no big deal

That SA is an awesome piece.
My little brother has one and I've had the liberty of pushing a few rounds through it at the local range.

Looks like the SA 1911 GI Lightweight w/ 3" barrel to me or maybe an operator, throwing me off though since it doesn't have the proper grips to be a GI and the trigger is wrong for an operator.

no it is a rock island armory. i bought a cheap 1911 to be my first 1911. i love it. not one problem. i also have a SA1911 stainless in 9mm, but waiting on my grandparents to come down to texas to bring it to me.
