My kids are slowly taking over my basement manland, I will prolly be moved to the garage after the holidays. My garage is a 24x24 space with a door, window, and two garage doors. My question is this , how would you all heat th room?? I dont wanna spend a ton of money. Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated

wood stove

Be sure to check with your home insurance co. if you go with the above heat source.

Some company's will not insure you if the garage is heated by woodstove.

I heated with wood at my last house (bought in '97)
This house I heat in Fall & Spring & supplement thru the winter
I have yet to buy any wood (all the way back to '97), I go thru maybe 1.5 cords a year here

Gas might be the fastest, cost depends upon your area
If its not insulated you are wasting $$

Have any South exposure ?
Want free heat ?
I'm building a few of these for my house
This puts out 85+ degree air when sunny:

The issue is not with the heating technic, you'll need some serious isolation !

Why not run some electric wall / floor / base board heaters?

Or, if you can plumb for natural gas / propane, then do a free standing heater.

Worse case: get a devil box for the top of your propane bottle:

What kind of temps do you want? Will this be a constant temp?

When im not in the garage the temp will drop in the winter and rise in teh summer.........Im jsut worried about the lcd tvs being temperature sensetive and getting ruined:)

My suggestion is to put the kids in the garage and dress them warmly. :D
