Wow. Very nice.
I wonder what the noise is like when the game room is in full use?

Huge fan of the man friendly bathroom. I would have definitely done the upgrade to the urinal if my bathroom wasn't already finished when I bought my house.

Here's a picture from when I brought my little bundle of joy home from the warehouse...

I just started on the final phase of my room - the mini-kitchen. I'll have all the plumbing and electrical done this weekend. Then it's of to get a few more sheets of drywall. I already have the cabinets, sink and counter top. The frig is picked out and the microwave is on its way.

WOW That's awesome Jeff. I like how you pursued some cheaper alternatives as well since not all of us can afford to go with the best of everything.

Did you put the urinal in yourself? Im looking into putting one in my cave. Whats the approximate cost?
Jeffzee
01-06-2010, 10:48 AM
What I have there is an American Standard Maybrook urinal with a Sloan Royal 186-1 Flushometer. I want to say it cost something like $200 - $300 with the flush valve representing most of the cost. I was very careful about measuring everything and putting the supply and drain rough-ins right where they needed to be. I specifically bought the one urinal model that featured an external trap because I thought that approach would give me a little extra room to fudge. In the end it all went together just as the instructions said it would. Aside from some initial intimidation of doing something I never tried before, it was a easy project. Here's a pic of the rough-ins...

I used over-sized blocking just to make sure I wouldn't miss.

Nice
That's one thing I would really like is a couple pinball machines
I'd want them more spread out tho
How can you slide them side to side that close ?

You make yourself a Redneck Pinball Dolly (http://www.jeff-z.com/pinball/dolly/dolly.html), of course.

All I have left to do is the final plumbing on the sink. I plan to add another sink on the opposite side of the wall where my workshop is located. After that's done, I'll do all the final plumbing at once. But the frig is cold and cranking out ice. Now I need to get some rum & coke and start a beer collection.
We also added a ping-pong table to the gameroom. Wifie isn't into pinball at all, but loves kicking my butt at ping-pong. That probably violates some sort of man-cave directive, but yeah well.

I thought about constructing a pub shelf around the room's central column. Then I decided to simply order a couple of teak drink holders from a boating supplier.

Perfect!
Looks like it was made for it.
Picks of the slot machine please!
Jeffzee

I'll have to take some. It's a 1932 Mills Bursting Cherry nickle machine. Pure mechanical; no electric. The other machine is a 1932 Gottlieb counter-top pinball machine. It's a pre-flipper mechanical game. Seven balls for a penny.

That is cool as shit!
How did you come into it? Family heirloom?
Jeffzee
02-26-2010, 05:32 AM
In this case it is a Family heirloom. Slots are not something I'm into or know much about. But they're not that difficult to come by. There is a whole subculture of antique slot machine collectors out there. A lot of the old ones are friggin' pricey, but newer ones are only a few hundred or less. Sometimes you'll even see the newer ones in your local discount store or bar stood store.

And I'm getting the games organized. In my typical anal fashion, they're arranged by manufacture and age.

I so want to get the high scores there. 8)

I like the padded tiles at the end of the pinball machines. Adds a bit of whimsical, but also serves a purpose.
Nice, indeed.

Here's our retro bar table and stools from Bars and Booths. Nice stuff. I highly recommend this place for retro furniture. http://www.barsandbooths.com
http://www.jeff-z.com/pinball/gameroom/table-02.jpg
For a touch of '80s arcade decor I added a "Space Voyage" black light rug.
http://www.jeff-z.com/pinball/gameroom/table-03.jpg
At first I wasn't sure how to effectively pop the rug with all the other ambient light in the room. Then I decided to add black lights right to the underside of the table. I used four F15T8-BLB florescent black light tubes. The effect is just what I wanted. The fixtures are wired together and the main cord is routed inside the table pedestal.
Very nicely done!
How much did the ping pong table set you back, if you don't mind. I am looking for one now, but want something above your basic rec style table.

The black lights under the table. nice touch.
You should patten that.

I think the table is a Stiga ST3000. I got it at Dicks, but I don't see it on their website any more. Now it looks like they're selling an ST4000...
http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3948426
Seems to be about the same thing, but with different colors. I happened to be walking through the store when they were having some sort of double secret probation sale on the table and got it for more like $250.
My only semi-complaint is that the blue table top paint isn't too sturdy. My balls have turned blue *snicker*. I wouldn't clean it with anything more than a dry dust cloth and I don't know how it would hold up to kids. But we didn't want something with a laminate top because the edges seem to peel up.
Anyway, wifie is the ping-pong person. She's not into pinball at all, but is more than happy to kick my butt on the ping-pong table.
