I've got a somewhat substantial collection of Disney buttons and pins (most of them Cast Member exclusives) that I've amassed throughout 20 years of employment. I'm looking to sell these on eBay. Is it better to sell them each individually or the whole lot at once? I haven't bought or sold anything on eBay in years, so I don't know what's changed.

I'd probably sell them individually, especially if they are rare. You could do them in lots of 4 or 5 or more for some of the common ones.

I'm not one of those crazy Disney collectors. I'd search for Disney pins and/or search for specific buttons. I'm sure some of this shit is pretty valuable to someone out there, its just a matter of finding them.

sell em individual. Though ebay is such a ripoff these days for sellers. You'll lose 20% just on listing fees and final sale fees and paypal fees and take it in the rear fees.

research completed auctions first to see where the market is at on them... then go from there..

but i do know pin/button collectors can get crazy on ebay

after a quick search for Disney Pin Cast, it looks like the anniversary pins, 1 year/5 year and stuff like that seem to be the ones that are going to be the big sellers.

I also think if you are going to sell a lot of 4-5 pins, take a pic of the actual pins. Some people have a "grab bag" of random pins. Not many bids on those.

Agreed, sell individually if you can. Offer to combine shipping and you'll get folks to buy several. If there are generic pins/buttons, throw them together, but take individual pictures, or at least pictures where you can see each pin in the auction and you'll have better luck. You can even offer an extra freebie pin to anyone who buys five or ten. If you want to keep more of the money, try listing on Craigslist, its free......

something else to keep the costs down is link the photos to a photobucket account.

I would set up your ebay and paypal accounts and check out some of the current auctions. hit the "watch" button on those auctions and that will save them into your MY EBAY. Then you can use them as a reference to see what is selling.

The selling them in lots idea will keep the costs down, but for the special hard to find pins, there is a possibility that a feeding frenzy will take place for those die hard collectors.

If for any reason you feel that someone is going to get a pin for under what you feel its worth....feel free to give us a shout, as I'm sure there are a few folks around here that can get the bidding where you want it.

I know you can buy and sell dirty socks on Ebay.

Seriously though, you worked at disney? Any ideas on best ways to get a hotel stay for cheap on property? Wifey wants to take kids there this summer. We have a couple of days left on some passes for entry to parks (never expire)...just wondering about staying on property and the best way to get a deal.

x2. Seriously. Sorry I can't be much more help than that. Just keep an eye out for promotions. Right now I think they have a deal where if you book 4 nights you get 3 free.

we stayed at the Candy Cane Inn a few summers ago. It was clean, close, and much cheaper than staying on site. The name sounds pretty faggy, but it was a nice joint with free breakfast every morning. I'd stay there again. They had a pool, hot tub and a kiddie pool that is about 1-1.5 feet deep. Perfect for the little ones.

It was right down the road from DL with a free shuttle bus to and from DL like every 15 or 30 minutes until the park closed. We had a rental car, so don't know about shuttle to/from the airport. We flew into the John Wayne airport. Million times better than LAX any day of the week.
