Eagle Eye

Who Is In It: Shia LaBeouf, Michelle Monaghan, Billy Bob Thornton, Rosario Dawson, Michael Chiklis
Run Time: 118 minutes
Blu-Ray or DVD: Blu-Ray
Plot/Synopsis: Loser and a MILF must obey the voices commands. Your cell phone is watching you.
IMDB: Jerry and Rachel are two strangers thrown together by a mysterious phone call from a woman they have never met. Threatening their lives and family, she pushes Jerry and Rachel into a series of increasingly dangerous situations, using the technology of everyday life to track and control their every move.
What I Thought: Another movie I hadn't heard good things about so no expectations going in. Surprisingly I was really getting into this movie. I thought there was good suspense and exciting action scenes that although needing a leap of faith on believability were still fun to watch. This lasted for 68 minutes. At this point the twist was revealed and everything that came before suddenly felt like a letdown. It has been done before in different ways and this didn't bring anything new. The rest of movie became totally obvious and very easy to sketch how the movie was going to end. Minus one action scene with a predator drone I was completely disappointed.
Video: :Qs :Qh
- very colorful scenes displayed well
- skin tones seemed off but apparently was by design
Audio: :Ah :Ad
- great surround sound
- dialogue could be heard
- aggressive sound out of the subwoofer
Story: :7h :3c
- Had early promise
- Been there/done that twist
- Predictable
PMC Quick Hits: Car chases, Predator drones, Explosions, Technology, no nudity, 1 ¾ hot chicks (Rosario Dawson is hit or miss with me)
Overall: A really good start, building good suspense giving hope this could be a decent action thriller. Turns out to be nothing but a run of the mill wannabe. Rent it if you want but only if there is nothing else available.
2 Swankys out of 5.
